Assist in toileting activities for children as needed.
Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings to plan for and deliver collaborative services across all components.
Respond appropriately to crisis or emergency situations that may occur.
Assist in facilitating the coordination of special needs specialist staff in the classroom when indicated, developing a collaborative approach that benefits all children in the classroom.
Assist in adapting the curriculum to address and meet individual goals for children as identified in their individualized family education plans/ education plans.
Assist in assessing individual needs, attending to special needs, specific interests, strengths, and concerns of children.
Help in developing and utilizing developmentally appropriate curriculum plans for children, which reflect mandated elements and components of National Association for the Development of Young Children (NAEYC) and Maryland State Department of Education,
parental and cultural influences, and promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of infants and toddlers.
Interact with children appropriately to develop language and motor skills daily.
Follow a consistent schedule individualized for children within the classroom, which includes small group experiences, choice time, music and movement, large and small motor activities, skill development, meals, and effective transitions between activities.
Encourage experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice-making; ask open-ended questions and listen respectfully to the answers.
Ass.ist in establishing weekly goals that promote individual and educational plans and include other developmentally appropriate components.
Assist in preparing classroom materials to support developmentally appropriate curriculum plans; create and change learning centers as needed.
Provide an atmosphere that promotes and reinforces parental involvement in the classroom and reinforces the idea that "the parent is the first teacher".
Communicate regularly with parents, regarding each child's progress.
Assist in the preparation for parent/teacher conferences and home visits when needed, for the purpose of assessment and support, and to share information on classroom progress and educational strategies at school and at home.
Help plan and conduct regular parent meetings with team members which may be conducted in the evenings.
Work with appropriate agencies in developing specialized planning for children and families with specialized needs.
Assist in documenting baselines, ongoing assessments according to OAP benchmarks and milestones.
Document all significant classroom issues, parent contacts and concerns.
Monitor and report child abuse.
Attend meetings, training, courses and appropriate professional development activities as required for further professional development.
Assure general maintenance and security of the facility and assist with inventory of equipment and supplies.
Other duties as requested.

High School Diploma
Possess 90 hours in Early Childhood
One Year experience in an early childhood classroom
Posses CPR/First Aid for Children, adults, and infants
High School diploma with 15 credits in Early Childhood Education
