Description / Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Physical Plant, the employee will manage plant
operations and maintenance work. The employee will supervise the activities of the
maintenance chief. The employee must have demonstrated experience with all types of
heating and cooling systems.
High School diploma or GED
Must be willing to take classes to stay abreast of changes in the industry
Eight years of experience which includes the operation of heavy equipment, and performing
general building maintenance repairs
Valid motor vehicle license required
Knowledge of the basic principles and methods of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, energy, asbestos, and trades as applied to the maintenance and repair of large buildings and related facilities;
ability to plan work independently;
ability to prepare plans, specifications and estimates;
thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, equipment, tools and materials used in maintenance work;
thorough knowledge of the hazards and necessary safety precautions involved in maintenance work;
ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates;
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
