About Baltimore City Community College
Founded in 1947, Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) is comprehensive, urban institution accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Responsibilities/Duties

  • Develops, promotes and delivers effective and innovative instructional services to students, faculty and the BCCC community.
  • Collaborates with faculty to integrate information literacy into curriculum.
  • Designs, schedules and conducts reference and instructional activities for the Library.
  • Promotes the use of the library’s online assets (LibGuides, databases, Ebooks, LibAnswers)
  • Develops and maintains LibGuides.
  • Promotes information literacy initiatives through presentations to students and faculty.
  • Analyze and adjust reference and instructional activities to better meet the needs of the students.
  • Compiles, analyzes and reports statistics for the reference and instructional program.
  • Participates in the collection development and recommends materials and resources.
  • Participates on College and departmental committees.

Required Qualifications

  • MLS from an ALA accredited institution.
  • 3 or more years of professional Instructional Librarian experience 

  • Knowledge of LibGuides, LibAnswers, Basic HTML, digital media, and Web 2.0 technologies.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System (presently Canvas).
  • Experience in planning and providing library instruction.
  • Knowledge of best practices in information literacy efforts and programs
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work proactively with faculty and commitment to team
